LOL Trish! This was my stockpile of stuff I haven't worked with in several months (or a year+). I found some artwork I had misplaced (good) so I can scan or photograph it. I'm not keen on taking original artworks to such a humid environment. Hilo area is a virtual rain forest. Downstairs in my office are more supplies that need to be sorted. That'll be harder since I use those items more frequently. Don't worry, I'm not getting rid of the good stuff! Luckily I have wonderful friends and family willing to store this stuff for me! There may be one Ben Franklin craft store on the island of Hawaii. I'm just being reasonable about what I'm into now... colored pencils, pen and ink, Zentangle of course, and paper crafts. The chalk pastels and printing supplies are going into storage (well marked so I can have them shipped to me if I have an ART attack!) Thanks for the encouragement! Well said, Margaret. Not sure what I feel more: sympathy or envy. De-junkifying one's life is always a wonderful exercise, and moving to Hawaii... well! But getting rid of artsy, creative, inspiring things, not so fun. It's not quite like clothes and the "if you haven't worn it in two years get rid of it" scenario, but that might be a helpful thought to keep at the edge of your brain. It's just the inner artist in me that doesn't want to part with my supplies! IF IF IF I could, I'd simply sell the entire lot of my life that is in storage, including the good furniture, china, etc. In the last few months, I've lived sparse and zen-like in my rental apt., and I've loved it. The only things I miss are photos, books, and music. As for about 95 percent of the other stuff? I wish I never had to see it again. And that's MY story.
