ZT3 Class test-drives “the Glow” technique

While preparing for class, I discovered a neat technique I’d like to call “the Glow” ~ it’s not anything NEW, but I’ve never done this technique before while tangling… We tested it out in last night’s Zentangle 3: Advanced class at Eclectic By Nature Too. The Glow was used around Vertigogh (looks like a sprig of Rosemary) to set it off from the rest of the patterns on the tile.

How to create ”the Glow” on a black Zentangle tile:

                1. First, draw the pattern, (for example, Vertigogh) using a White Sakura GellyRoll
                2. Instead of aura-ing with the GellyRoll as you may normally do, draw a heavy White Charcoal Pencil aura instead
                3. Being careful to preserve the hard-edge line on the inside (nearest the tangle), smudge the outside edge of the aura to create a glowing appearance. Voila!

THANK YOU to the fine group of seasoned tanglers who completed this Zentangle class sequence with me. I’ve enjoyed being on this tangled journey with you and can’t wait to see what you do next! TANGLE ON!
